Hispanic-Americans are by far the fastest growing ethnic minority group in America. According to the 2010 census, Latinos made up more than 16% of the United States population overall and had a 43% growth rate between 2000 and 2010. In Texas alone, Hispanic-Americans make up about 37.6% of the population according to the U.S. Census Bureau. If these measurements were taken in 2010, can you imagine how many Hispanic-Americans are in the United States now? Many, and the numbers are growing fast. This is reason for concern because although Latinos are the fastest growing group in America, they are also the least educated: only 19% of Hispanic-Americans have a college degree at all and only 12% are current college students, according to data Michelle Camancho Liu of the National Conference of State Legislatures pulled from the U.S. Census Bureau in 2011 in…
